What makes AEO different from traditional SEO?
AEO focuses on helping your content become the answer. While SEO teaches search engines how to rank your pages, AEO teaches AI systems how to use your content to answer real questions.
This shift is happening because people now search the way they talk, and AI systems return direct answers instead of long lists of links.
AEO helps your content get found, trusted, and cited by AI systems such as Google AI Overviews, Bing Copilot, Perplexity, and ChatGPT browsing.
Before AI can trust your content, it has to trust your identity
One of the core ideas in the AEO Essentials ebook is that everything starts with your Identity Graph, sometimes called your entity graph.
It's the foundation of AEO because it helps search engines understand:
- Who you are
- What your organization does
- Who your official authors are
- What you specialize in
- Which social profiles represent you
- What your brand identity looks like
Without this, AI systems do not have a reliable way to connect your content to a real person or brand. That makes it harder for them to choose your answer.
Most websites already have basic schema, but it is not enough
Whether you use WordPress, Go High Level, or another CMS, you likely already have minimal structured data generated automatically. SEO plugins often output:
- A basic WebSite entity
- A WebPage entity
- A primary ImageObject
- Sometimes a SearchAction
This is a good start, but it's not a complete entity graph. It doesn't help AI understand your brand identity or authorship. It doesn't define your organization, your expertise, or how your content connects.
The AEO Essentials ebook explains that Organization and WebSite schema together create the foundation of your identity layer, and everything else builds on it.
That's why we start here.
How to Build Your Entity Graph Using the Schema Wizard
To make this step easy, I created a free Organization + Website Schema Wizard.
It lets you fill in the details about your business, your social profiles, your logo, and your key people.
Then it generates a clean, connected JSON-LD entity graph you can paste into the head of any website.
Here is a walkthrough showing exactly how to use it:
In this tutorial, you will learn how to:
- Fill out your Organization and WebSite details
- Add key people such as founders or authors
- Generate clean JSON-LD
- Wrap it in script tags
- Add it to WordPress, Elementor, Divi, or Go High Level
- Validate your results at validator.schema.org
